Award-winning composer Saki Furuya’s artistic foundations are rooted in cinematic orchestral music defined by memorable melodies and neo-classical sensibilities. Her masterful command of the orchestra, stemming from intimate knowledge of traditional theory and literature, enriches the narrative of any visual media by adding tonal colors that deeply stir emotion.

Saki’s diverse credits include scores for the Apple TV+ original series Mythic Quest, feature-length gastronomy documentary The Pursuit of Perfection (Official Selection, San Sebastián International Film Festival), award-winning Japanese film Muse Wa Oborenai (Grand Jury Prize, Tama New Wave: Grand Jury Prize, Tanabe Benkei Film Festival), Sony Interactive Entertainment’s mega-hit franchise Gran Turismo, PlayStation VR and Oculus Rift title Little Witch Academia VR Broom Racing, and popular iOS/Android games Blue Excorcist (Aniplex), Magia Record (Aniplex) and Wild Arms: Million Memories (Sony Interactive Entertainment).

As orchestrator, she has worked on Avatar: The Last Airbender (Netflix), Planet of Lana (Microsoft), Honor of Kings (Tencent), Call of Dragons (Farlight Games)

Her music has been licensed by global brands such as Apple and the NFL and regularly airs on the BBC, ESPN, M6, Canal+, and other major networks worldwide via production music labels Universal Production Music, Sony Music Publishing, EMI/KPM, and APM among others.

Saki received her bachelor’s degree in composition from the prestigious Tokyo University of the Arts. In 2021, she made history as the first Japanese composer to become top ten winner at the Oticons Faculty International Film Music Competition. Saki resides in Los Angeles and is currently working on Season 4 of Mythic Quest and its spin-off anthology series Mere Mortals (Apple TV+).
